Jeff Payne is most recently the Founder and CTO of GridNetworks. He has been involved in the development and commercialization of high-value Internet applications for over 20 years. His career has spanned systems design, operations, software and hardware design & development and key executive and leadership positions.
As Spry’s Principal Systems Architect, Jeff was instrumental in the development of the first successful consumer Internet access software package, Internet-In-A-Box. As the Chief Architect for SpryNet, he led the design and deployment of Internet service provider SpryNet. As RealNetworks’ General Manager of Broadcast Operations and Chief Architect of Real Broadcast Network, Jeff established the first global Content Delivery Network for Internet audio and video. Later, as co-founder and CTO of Bivio Networks, he helped to devise and develop the first field programmable multi-gigabit packet processing platform.
