Jeff Hinck

Jeff Hinck, a proven technology investor and former start-up company CEO, joined El Dorado Ventures as a General Partner in 2008. Prior to becoming an EDV General Partner, Hinck worked closely with EDV in the past, co-investing with the firm in seven companies, including current portfolio companies RipCode and Storspeed and serving on the board of FusionOne.

Hinck has been a venture capitalist since 1997, as a co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Vesbridge since 2004 and Crescendo Ventures and its predecessor, IAI Ventures prior to that.

Jeff also served as CEO of Sistina Software, an infrastructure software company acquired by Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), and was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Co. He was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law & Economics at Harvard Law School, Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy and taught Statistics at Harvard College.

Jeff’s other investments include Airband, Algety (acquired by Corvis for $2 billion), BroadSoft, iBeam (IPO), IPCell (acquired by Cisco for $150 million), iTKO and NetCentrex (acquired by Comverse Technologies for $165 million). Jeff also served on the boards of Picolight (acquired by JDSU for $115m) and Endwave (IPO:ENVW).

Jeff graduated with a bachelors degree in economics from Northwestern University and received his JD from Harvard Law School.
