Jeff Bennett has been a leader in the digital economy for more than twelve years.

Today, Mr. Bennett oversees the day-to-day business operations for NameMedia and has been a driving force behind it’s rapid expansion. Mr. Bennett led the effort with Highland Capital and Summit Partners to acquire BuyDomains and develop the YesDirect Network that is the foundation of NameMedia. NameMedia operates one of the largest trading operations of domains that has allowed us to build the largest domain portfolio in the world. NameMedia is also developing media properties on domains for Direct Search, eCommerce, Premium Web Sites and Social Networking. Today the NameMedia network of web sites serves an Internet audience of over 60 million visitors each month. This effort earned Mr. Bennett an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award. NameMedia has also been honored as on of the Deloitte Fast 50 Technology companies in New England.

Mr. Bennett shares a strong interest in the evolution of Social Media and is leveraging his expertise in this field at NameMedia and through other activities. Mr. Bennett is sharing his views, experiences and information through blogging on jeffbennett.org. Mr. Bennett is a member of the Board of Directors of RatePoint, a venture backed company that is focused on deploying it’s online reputation management platform around the world. Mr. Bennett is also advising young companies in this segment.

Prior to NameMedia, Mr. Bennett served in several executive roles at Terra-Lycos and Lycos. Mr. Bennett founded the Lycos E-Commerce business and led this business unit to extraordinary growth that included establishing a 1,000 merchant marketplace in six months and growing annual revenue to over $100 million in just two years. Mr. Bennett was also the architect of several strategic acquisitions and alliances during his tenure.

Mr. Bennett earned his B.S. Degree, cum laude, with a concentration in Marketing and Management from Bentley College.
