Jay Shapiro
Successful serial entrepreneur, Global Adventurer, philanthroper, & all-around-nice-guy.
Jay Shapiro was one of the digital marketing pioneers in Asia, having founded BLUE in Singapore in 1999. The agency was boot-strapped from a small start-up to Marketing magazine’s overall Agency of the Year for 2009.
BLUE was acquired by WPP Group PLC in 2007, and became a cornerstone of the new global digital agency Possible Worldwide.
Following the acquisition of BLUE, Jay founded The Muskoka Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit charity in the USA. This network of 150+ volunteers travel to schools, orphanages and entrepreneurship groups in communities on four continents. While there they complete one-week skills transfer workshops in topics such as IT-skills, Digital Photography, Music & Entrepreneurship.
Most recently Jay Shapiro co-founded Infinite Monkeys LLC, together with his long-time collaborator David Hoare. This newest venture aims to address the long-tail of the mobile apps industry though their web-based self-service platform, which enables ordinary people to create their own mobile apps without any coding, for free.
