As EVP of Global Advertising Sales, Trade Marketing and Advertising Operations, Jay’s role within Machinima is to scale ad sales by expanding and deepening the company’s partnerships with global brands and agencies. With over 78 million active and engaged users, Machinima offers marketers the most authentic voice within the gaming community and as such allows brands the ability to form a lasting relationship with the young adult males that largely make up the community.
Prior to Machinima, Mr. Sampson work at Microsoft Corporation for 14 years, most recently serving as General Manger of Microsoft’s Emerging Media Sales where he was responsible for defining the go-to-market strategies across the important new media offerings in gaming (Xbox), mobile, video and (advanced) television.
A seasoned executive with nearly 20+ years of media sales experience, Mr. Sampson joined Microsoft Corporation in 1997 as one the first media sales executives for the company. A frequent evangelist for new media, Mr. Sampson works closely with marketers, agencies and content producers alike to develop advertising opportunities and solutions to meet the needs of Fortune 500 marketers and their associated agencies
Mr. Sampson sits on several civic and industry boards as well as in an advisory role for ZS Associates, a global management consulting firm specializing in sales and marketing consulting, capability building, and outsourcing.
He resides in the Seattle area with his wife and three daughters.
