Detailed Description

Update

Jason Richelson is the CEO and Founder of ShopKeep POS, a cloud-based iPad point of sale service for retailers.

The simplest way to make smarter business decisions, ShopKeep® POS is the affordable and complete platform for running a shop from an iPad with real-time reporting on the web.

Jason started his career in technology consulting at PriceWaterhouseCoopers but quickly veered onto a different path when he co-founded a tech company, InternetCash, in 1999. InternetCash created a way to pay on E-Commerce sites with prepaid cards sold at retail.

After learning everything not to do in a fast-moving tech startup, Jason became the first employee at Bluefin Trading, where he was responsible for setting up all the technology for the new trading operation. He eventually became the assistant trader to the Managing Partner and also helped manage risk for the floor trading operations and upstairs option book.

Jason grew impatient with trading and was itching to start a new company. With his partner, Amy Bennett, he opened The Greene Grape wine store in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, in 2004. That led to another wine store in lower Manhattan and then The Greene Grape Provisions store in Fort Greene. The Greene Grape grew to employ more than 70 people and was named the NYC Small Business of the Year in 2009 and Retailer of the Year in 2009 by the New York State Wine & Grape Foundation.

As CEO of ShopKeep POS since 2008, Jason has been featured in Inc. Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur, WWD, ABC News and other nationwide publications. Most recently he has been selected as a NYC Ventures Fellow.

More importantly, he is living his dream of using technology to remove the impediments of starting and running a successful retail business by continuing to grow ShopKeep POS into a dynamic service that allows merchants to better track their sales and operations while saving them time and money.
