Jason is the Chief Operating Officer of PerkStreet Financial and an active member of the start up community as a board member, advisor, mentor and investor.
Jason is also a Managing Director at Rock Maple Ventures, where he is responsible for managing out the fund’s remaining investments. Prior to PerkStreet, Jason was a consultant to early stage companies and more recently assisting public companies create a culture of innovation and launch new businesses as a Managing Director at Acceleration Partners. Previously, Jason served as the Chief Operating Officer of U.S. Genomics, a venture-backed developer of ultra-high throughput sequencing technologies and an early executive / board member of Britemoon (an email marketing company acquired by ClickTactics).
Before joining the world of early stage ventures, Jason was a strategy consultant at Monitor Company, where he specialized in strategy design and industry restructuring, and project engineer for Deluxe Corporation where he participated in the redesign of the company’s core manufacturing process and the development of systems to exploit new business opportunities.
Notable companies Jason has worked with, and / or sat on the boards of include: Blacksmith Applications, BlueSwarm, First Marblehead (FMD), Judy’s Book, Seahorse Biosciences, LocaModa, Memento Security, MedVantx, Morphotek (acquired by Eisai Pharmaceuticals) and Versamed (acquired by General Electric) and Web-o-Matic. He is also the past President of the Massachusetts’s Service Alliance and advisor to City Year.
Jason began his education in leadership and engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point and completed studies in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences at Harvard University. In his free time, Jason can be found searching for the perfect wave, running even in the harshest of conditions, or undertaking some form of home improvement project.
