Jason Goldberg is the founder and CEO of socialmedian, a social news network the connects people with personalized news and information (http://www.socialmedian.com/). socialmedian is currently in a private alpha. On December, 19 Social Median was sold to XING, one of the biggest Business Networks.
Goldberg will be moving to Hamburg, Germany, and join Xing in the newly created position of VP of Applications Platform. Xing is a lot like LinkedIn, and has been hugely ambitious in its expansion over the last year or so, and will likely use Socialmedian to help expand its professional services for users. This also helps it guard against LinkedIn and Facebook’s own international expansion.
Previously Goldberg founded Jobster in 2004 (which he left in late 2007).
Jason was the founding visionary behind Jobster and he ran the daily operations of the company. Jason and Jobster’s CTO, Phil Bogle, guided Jobster’s overall product strategy. Prior to founding Jobster, Jason led Strategic Planning & Alliances for T-Mobile USA. Jason’s successes at T-Mobile include sourcing and negotiating several multi-million dollar product, marketing, and services relationships, overseeing new business planning, and leading the development and launch of a series of next generation products. Prior to joining T-Mobile, Jason held management positions at AOL Time Warner. Jason worked from 1993 to 1998 at the White House in Washington D.C., the final two years as senior aide to the White House Chief of Staff, Erskine Bowles. Jason received his MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and holds a BA from Emory University with honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction.
