James Slavet joined Greylock in 2006. His areas of focus include: consumer internet, mobile, and technology-assisted marketing services.
James has an extensive background as an entrepreneur and general manager in the software, Internet and media industries. Most recently, he was a Vice President/General Manager in the Search & Marketplace business unit at Yahoo. Prior to Yahoo, he served in key product and general management roles in several startup ventures. He was founder/chief operating officer of Guru, an online recruitment company, through its merger with Unicru; a launch team member of online consumer health company Drugstore.com; and a manager of product & business development for internet/media company Wired, which was acquired by Conde Nast and Lycos.
He holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
