As GM of Global Business Development and Partnerships in Microsoftâ€™s Online Services Division (OSD), James McClamroch, Jr. heads and oversees the strategy, development and management of multi-platform product partnerships for the Bing and MSN services around the world. Additionally, McClamroch is responsible for many of Microsoftâ€™s equity investments, serving on the board at MSNBC.com and Bundle.com, and as a board observer at CareerBuilder.com, LLC.
Over the last decade, McClamroch personally structured and established key foundational partnerships for MSNâ€™s US business and key alliances in Europe with global companies such as Match.com, Fox Sports, NBC Universal, CareerBuilder, which in aggregate have generated over a billion dollars in revenue. He has spent the last three years managing the global team for product partnerships, a team that consummated over 200 deals in FY10.
Prior to his business development roles, McClamroch served as GM of Sidewalk.com, Microsoftâ€™s on-line city guide start-up, managing creative, technology, editorial and marketing teams for Chicago and Twin Cities Sidewalk, achieving over 50% local reach in these markets prior to Microsoftâ€™s divestiture of Sidewalk to Ticketmaster On-Line City Search.
Before joining Microsoft, McClamroch helped found and lead Foote, Cone and Beldingâ€™s interactive media efforts and was instrumental in originating and executing some of the earliest marketing initiatives on the Internet for clients such as S.C. Johnson, Dinerâ€™s Club, Motorola, Kraft, Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Illinois Department of Tourism.
McClamroch earned a BA in Political Science from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He resides in a northern suburb of Chicago where he enjoys time with his wife, son and two daughters, cheers on the Chicago Cubs and, whenever possible, skips town to hike the Canadian Rockies.
