Co-founder of PeerPong. PeerPong was acquired by FormSpring.me in May 2011. Jai incubated PeerPong inside Partech Ventures, a search company focused on semantic analysis based on social/profile streams. Responsible for seed investment, incubation of concept, product prototyping, building out core management and development team, securing follow-on Series A of $2.8M (First Round Capital, DCM, Charles River Ventures), leading business development and product marketing efforts.
Previously an EIR and Principal at Partech International with start-up and cross-functional operating experience. Relationships span across US, Europe and Asia with leading technology, media and communications companies.
Prior to Partech, a partner with IGNITE Ventures, a $250M venture fund with strategic communication and technology companies as limited partners from Japan and Korea (NTT Communications, Docomo, Epson, Ricoh, Funai Electronics, Mitsubishi, etc). Investment experience span across US and abroad in the digital media landscape. Extensive experience advising major Asia-based technology companies including NTT Communications, Docomo and Ricoh to develop strategies around innovation mapping, new growth platforms, new business formation, joint venture, and M&A.
Prior to joining Ignite Group in 2001, spent several years as an entrepreneur and product marketing executive in the Consumer Internet space. Jai was an early employee at OnePage Software, a content personalization platform acquired by Sybase in 2001. Co-founded On-Air Networks in 1997, one of the first web radio application companies to deliver copyright licensed music over the Internet. Raised $40M in financing, On-Air was acquired in late 1999 by Loudeye (Nokia), a digital media management and services company. Nokia now uses the Loudeye platform as the basis for its OVI digital music store.
Worked on consulting at PA Consulting Group, focused on market-related and operational issues for major telecom and energy companies.
Jai holds a Bachelor Science from University of Southern California. He is also a recipient of the SCion’s academic scholarship.
