Accomplished entrepreneur and corporate executive with years of award winning experience and success at Fortune 500 (American Express, Sprint) and start-up (Connect HQ, Sometrics, Userplane) companies.

Currently, Ian Swanson is CEO and Founder of Connect HQ. Connect HQ provides the industry’s first “Device CRM” that centralizes, maps, and connects hardware data to an ecosystem of applications aimed to increase product sales, lift device engagement, enhance product intelligent, and offer award-winning support.

Before launching Connect HQ, Swanson was a Vice President at American Express responsible for product and partnerships for the Amex prepaid business (Serve). He was brought over to Amex via the acquisition of his company Sometrics in 2011 where Swanson served as CEO and co-founder. Under Swanson's leadership, Sometrics launched the industry's first global virtual currency platform in 2008, helping publishers manage and optimize all virtual currency monetization at a global scale. Today, the platform has more than 3.3 trillion units of virtual currency under management with a global reach supporting 150+ different payment options and serving an audience of 250 million online consumers in 180+ countries.

Earlier in his career, Swanson was business development manager for Userplane [acquired: AOL], a company that provided social media apps to hundreds of thousands of online communities, supporting millions of users daily. He was instrumental in helping the company extend the reach of its hosted chat, IM and other communications apps, and in building the company’s ad network. Before Userplane, he was an executive with Sprint managing enterprise sales and helped launch two mobile web startups.

Swanson actively advises several successful companies on their product and marketing strategies. He has been invited to speak on many topics relating to digital currency, social marketing, online advertising, performance-based analytics, big data insights and entrepreneurship.
