Hrach joined Realty Mogul's Board of Directors in March, 2014 as a representative from Canaan, a prominent Silicon Valley based Venture Capital firm. Hrach joined Canaan in 2007 and focuses on both the consumer and enterprise sectors. Hrach currently sits on the board of CompStak,Realty Mogul and Washio and led Canaan's investment in Instacart and Plixi (acquired by Lockerz). Additionally, Hrach has worked closely with several Canaan portfolio companies including Kabam, Associated Content, Zoosk, PrimeSense, Tremor Video, Cardlytics, Switchfly, SandForce, Ebates, and OneFineStay. All this, and he can repair virtually anything with duct tape and a bent screwdriver.
Prior to joining Canaan, Hrach served as the Digital Media Research Associate at Rutberg & Company. The research group's coverage spanned product and technology categories, including semiconductors, devices, infrastructure, and services. Previously, Hrach held several positions at Northrop Grumman and TRW in the solid state laser research & development department conducting experiments in high power laser research and beam manipulation. Hrach also interned at two startups, The Retail Exchange and Jamdat back in 2000 and 2005.
Hrach holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and served as a co-president of the VC Club. Previously, he earned an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where his research focused on neuronal networks, linear systems analysis, and solid-state lasers. He also earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA specializing in biomedical engineering.
