Hope Chen is a Managing Director with Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Head of DFJ China leading investments in TMT, Energy and Consumer retail sectors in China. She currently serves on the boards of Prudent Energy, Ku6.com (NASDAQ:KUTV), PPLive, Huali, Mtime, QuickCare, Mazon, and SPSCAP and as Board Advisor for Allyes (NASDAQ:FMCN) and Pixoart (acquired by 51.com). Hope is the chairperson and one of the founding members for WIL (Women in Leadership), a premier organization for women leaders in venture capital firms, private equity funds and multi-national corporations in China.
Hope has close to 15 years of operational experience in internet and IT industry. She was most recently Founder and co-CEO of Billpoint, Inc., which pioneered the concept of online person to person payments. Billpoint became the leading provider of person to person payment services on the Internet and was acquired by eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) in 1999 as a payment solution for their online auction marketplace. Prior to Billpoint, Ms. Chen was Chief Information Officer of GE Nuclear Energy where she managed IT strategy and software and hardware infrastructure.
Hope received her MBA from the Harvard Business School. She received her BA in both Computer Science and Philosophy from Wellesley College.
