Herbert L. Roitblat, Ph.D. is a co-founder and Principal at OrcaTec LLC. Herb is a serial entrepreneur, having sold a previous company prior to OrcaTec. He is an expert at data analysis, machine learning, neural networks, and cognitive science. He is recognized as an innovator in the application of semantic modeling to the discovery of information and in bringing novel approaches to understanding information to bear to solve difficult semantic problems. Before starting Orcatec, Herb was Executive Vice President, Chief Scientist, and co-founder of DolphinSearch. He is the primary inventor of the core DolphinSearch technology (patent No. 6,189,002). Before DolphinSearch, Herb was a Professor at the University of Hawaii in Psychology, Marine Biology, and Second Language Acquisition, where, among other topics, he studied the application of neural networks to language acquisition and dolphin bio-sonar. While in Hawaii, he received a patent for a dolphin-based binaural sonar (patent No. 6,798,715).
