Heiko Hubertz is the CEO and founder of Bigpoint, with locations in Hamburg and Berlin (Bigpoint GmbH), San Francisco (Bigpoint Inc.), and Malta (Bigpoint International). Today, the company, which was founded in 2002, is one of the world’s largest portals for browser games and counts among the top three gaming portals in the world with over 155 million registered users. Bigpoint adds roughly 250,000 new users every day.
Hubertz started Bigpoint GmbH by developing the first game himself. Since then, the company has grown beyond almost 500 employees from 35 nations who develop and operate 50+ games built atop the latest technology. In addition to the development of several projects based on its own intellectual property, such as Ruined Online, Dark Orbit, Seafight, and Farmerama, Bigpoint is building several titles based on Hollywood intellectual property, such as Battlestar Galactica Online and The Mummy Online. The company’s high-end, 3D browser games are built atop the Unity platform.
