Gregory Hansell brought the core concept of A Better World to ToonUps and manages the team that has turned that concept into a reality. His background is in information technology as well as in the academic fields of philosophy, psychology, and religion that inform the foundational A Better World mechanics as well as the ToonUps company mission.
Hansell joined ToonUps in 2009, leaving the position of Managing Director of Global Communications at the Metanexus Institute, a global interdisciplinary think tank with over 200 projects in 42 countries. Metanexus is a “big questions” academic institute, focusing on issues at the intersection of philosophy, science, and human flourishing. In his six years at Metanexus, Hansell launched and managed several global web projects, including an awarding winning international online magazine and a global network connecting the institute’s numerous projects and programs. Prior to Metanexus, Hansell worked in network technologies at Prudential Financial, as well as worked extensively as a freelance technical consultant.
