Greg Sands is Founder and Managing Partner of Costanoa Venture Capital, an early stage venture capital focused on helping great entrepreneurs build real companies that solve real problems.
Prior to forming the firm, he was a Managing Director for 13 years at Sutter Hill Ventures, where he was an early investor in important companies such as Merced Systems, QuinStreet, Feedburner, AllBusiness, Return Path, and Youku. Before joining Sutter Hill, Greg was the first hire at Netscape Communications after its founding engineering team. He was its first Product Manager, wrote the initial business plan, came up with the name Netscape, and created the SuiteSpot Business Unit, which he grew from zero to $150m in revenue.
Greg currently serves on the boards of DemandBase, Guardian Analytics, Inflection, Intacct, LinkSmart, Return Path, and QuinStreet.
