Giovanni G JL Brees (17 May 1979) is a Belgian entrepreneur and businessman who began his career as an account manager in the Telecommunications Industry. After gaining his first sales experience, he became part of a small Belgian software company creating navigation software for mobile devices. In this role he was one of the individuals responsible for the launch of the first mobile navigation software in Europe.
In September 2008 Brees started the Hong Kong based company NaviTrace International which quickly became an international player in fleet management solutions with 5 offices and distribution partnerships in 4 continents. According to an interview with Techbase, Brees decided to sell his company mid of 2010 as he didn’t find the necessary funds to keep up with the rapid expansion and ongoing internal disputes.
In November 2009 he setup the new venture GPS-Vision. The company was one of the first in the world to offer location based services (LBS) for Social Networks. With a fast growing user database of over 3 million users, Brees sold the company in September 2011.
