Gerard Platenburg, Chief Development Officer is responsible for the company’s discovery and development strategy and activities. He has joined several biotech companies, including Pharming in 1989 as one of the founding scientists. Since then, he has held different management positions and has over 20 years of experience in the field of biotechnology. Gerard Platenburg co-founded Prosensa in 2002 with Prof. Herman de Boer. Gerard led the company through several financing rounds, most recently a series B round. He is trained as a molecular biologist.
