As Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, George Angus plays a key role in developing and implementing SDTC’s business and operational plans. As such, his main responsibility is to ensure that all parts of the organization are effectively integrated and efficiently working together towards SDTC’s overall goals.
With over 25 years experience, George began his career in public accounting, and then held managerial positions at various companies in the telecommunications and high tech sectors, including Bell Northern Research, Nortel Networks and, most recently, Fisher Scientific. George spent over 12 years with Fisher Scientific, where he held the positions of Vice-President, Finance and Administration and, subsequently, President of the Canadian division as well as several international business units. In this role, he provided business leadership to over 600 staff in Canada and abroad, developed strategies for growth and profitability, and managed all aspects of the company, including the Marketing, Sales, Operations and Administration divisions.
George holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) with an Accounting and Finance major from Carleton University. He is also a Chartered Accountant.
