General Partner with Advent Venture Partners in London, one of Europe’s most successful venture capital firms (current fund top decile fund globally).

Frederic invests in fast-growing technology-driven businesses, at various stages (seed, early, and growth), with a strong focus on opportunities in Digital Commerce. Advent’s ambition is to identify and back some of Europe’s best entrepreneurs, in markets where technology drives significant business and value creation opportunities. The goal is to build strong partnerships with entrepreneurs and help them create significant value in areas where the Advent team has both expertise and strong conviction. Advent’s current fund is one of the best performers of its vintage globally. In 2012 Frederic was named “Investor of the Year” in Europe at the Investor All Stars event.

Currently Frederic sits on the boards of FARFETCH.com (online marketplace for fashion, UK/US/Brazil) and Ever Team (enterprise software, FR). He led/co-led Advent’s investments in companies that were successfully exited recently: ZONG (mobile payments, bought by eBay), FIZZBACK (customer feedback SaaS, bought by Nice Systems), VITRUE (SRM, bought by Oracle), DAILYMOTION (Online video, bought by Orange), QYPE (local search, bought by YELP). Past investments at Advent include Cartesis (sold to Business Objects for $300m), Snell & Wilcox (merged with Probel).

Before Advent, Frederic was an entrepreneur (online marketplace for the textile industry ) and previously a technology investment banker (Lazard). He has worked in France, the UK, Italy and the US. Personal angel investments include: Lounge Lover (womenswear), Exclusively.In (Ecommerce, India, acquired by Myntra), Seal Software), and EDITD (SaaS for merchandisers).

Specialties: Internet services (consumer and b2b), e-commerce, digital media, SaaS, technology-enabled services, and mobile (services, apps). Very focused on opportunities in the “Digital Commerce” value chain where he has made most of his investments.
