Frank Bonsal III has twenty-five years experience advancing efficacy, innovation and productivity in and around education and the knowledge economy. Frank is the first Director of Entrepreneurship at Towson University and is a Venture Partner with New Markets Venture Partners, which he joined in 2007 and where his focus is on early stage investments in education technology and service companies. As a long term Partner with Bonsal Capital, and through his role at New Markets and as an angel, Frank has invested in over twenty-five private education companies throughout the U.S.
For 15 years leading up to the private capital pathway, Frank served as teacher, advisor, coach, and administrator to students in middle and high schools. Frank serves on several Mid-Atlantic-based nonprofit K-12 education boards, such as The Center for Education Reform, and is a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Stevenson University. He has served on numerous national and regional panels and committees on the topic of education innovation, investment and productivity and is a former President of the Alumni Board of Peabody College, Vanderbilt University.
Frank has a M.Ed. and M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire. He is married with three children and lives in the Baltimore, Maryland region.
