Francis was born in Hong Kong and later migrated to Australia, a place which he comfortably calls home now. He was exposed to the internet in 1998 and introduced to blogging in 1999 which later inspired him to seek a career in web development.
During his studies in the University of New South Wales, he co-founded a Web Production company Omiitech Solutions with his friend Thomas Deng developing websites and promoting multimedia products for small & medium sized businesses that were considered well ahead of its time.
A short year later, Francis parted with Omiitech Solutions and founded Pixel Square Production, a full service digital agency specialising in Search Engine Marketing. Pixel Square Production was involved in launching one of Australia’s first blogging platform “Livehouse.com.au” but was later acquired and closed by a private investor in Singapore to prevent competition.
Since then, Pixel Square Production opened up many career opportunities for Francis that ultimately landed him an SEO & Usability Architect role at Reed Business Information Australia where he met Ross Luo.
Ross and Francis later co-founded Tango Bee, an online competitive research tool that enables multinational media agencies to quickly and easily track their online marketing campaigns as well as competitive activity.
From the success of Tangobee, their partnership continued with the creation of Locafy Australian Business Directory a service that provides small to medium sized businesses with an innovative business sites that drive targeted leads quickly and effectively.
His latest venture has taken Locafy to Canada with the official launch of Locafy Canadian Business Directory, the Canadian sister site of Locafy Australia.
