Fayez Sarofim is the president, chairman of the board and a director at Fayez Sarofim & Co. Mr. Sarofim founded the company in 1958.
Mr. Sarofim received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and graduated with a B.S. in Food Technology from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Chartered Investment Counsellor. Mr. Sarofim was honored by and inducted into The Texas Business Hall of Fame in 1997 for his pioneering leadership in the field of investment management and his generosity to the community, particularly in the areas of health care and the arts.
Mr. Sarofim, among other commitments, serves on the Board of Overseers of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is also a director of the Texas Heart Institute. Mr. Sarofim is a former member of The Rockefeller University Council, a past director of the Alley Theatre, the Houston Ballet Foundation, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and past president and past vice chairman of the board of the Houston Symphony Society.
