After having worked for over 16 years in a number of commercial & technical roles in the IT industry I am now focussing on using my knowledge & experience to help others rather than (just) generate revenue. In 2010 I founded the charity “Haiti Connect” and after 2.5 years of running projects in Haiti we expanded by forming a global rapid response team dedicated to building WiFi networks in disaster zones in order to provide communication services to NGO’s & humanitarian organisation. Part of this expansion is a re-branding of the organisation as “Disaster Tech Lab”. Our organisation operates on a non-profit basis and not only provides rapid response communication systems but also develops (and assist in the development of) cutting edge technology for use in disaster response. Alongside this I am still active as a consultant for WiFi related projects and as a technology start-up mentor for a variety of incubation & acceleration projects.
