Esme Vos is the founder of MuniWireless.com, the portal for news and information about municipal wireless networks, citywide Wi-Fi, WiMAX and wireless applications. Esme turned the blog MuniWireless.com into a small nice media company with conferences, webinars, seminars, and a quarterly magazine in addition to the website. MuniWireless was founded in 2006.
Esme also founded Mapplr.com in 2008. Mapplr is a travel site for boutique hotels, luxury resorts, and travel guides. Recently Mapplr redesigned its site to place more focus on boutique hotels in emerging markets (Brazil, China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.). Mapplr’s sister site is Shopplr.com which focuses on fashion, beauty and style; it publishes shopping guides to cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, and more.
Esme obtained her law degree from Harvard Law School. She is an intellectual property lawyer specializing in software licensing (enterprise software), revenue recognition in software transactions and online media. Esme served Chief Legal Officer of Spray Network (a pan European portal based in Stockholm and Amsterdam, acquired by Lycos Europe in 2001); and as Director of Legal Affairs for Baan Business Systems (Netherlands) and Vanenburg Ventures (Netherlands).
