Eric Ver Ploeg is a Founding Partner at Metric Ventures.
Eric (last name rhymes with “Her Blue”) led VantagePoint Venture Partners investment activities in the mobile area from 2001 through 2008, and led the Wireless Advisory Council (which included current and former CTOs of T-Mobile International, Vodafone UK, AT&T Wireless, Cingular, O2 in the UK, and Clearwire) on behalf of the Firm. He was also the founding CEO of Angara, the first hosted website personalization company, backed by Kleiner Perkins, JMI Equity, and VantagePoint. Eric is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (BS) and Stanford University (MS, PhD, MBA).
His current and past Board seats and investments include Spatial Wireless (acquired by Alcatel), OZ Communiations (acquired by Nokia), UltraDNS (acquired by NeuStar), InnoPath, YouMail, and Flipswap.
