Eric Kuhn

Eric Kuhn runs marketing and business development for Layer3 TV, a next generation cable provider.

Prior to helping lunch the company, he was Hollywood’s first social media agent, working at United Talent Agency. Constantly building bridges between Silicon Valley and Hollywood, he represented emerging technology companies and provided advisory services to Fortune 500 corporations and some of the biggest writers, directors, actors and producers.

Prior to UTA, Kuhn was the first-ever Audience Interaction Producer at CNN, where he ran social media and focused on television-web integration for the network. While at CNN he brokered high-profile partnerships with emerging technology companies. Kuhn also reported and wrote extensively on politics and technology in Washington, D.C. and produced original programming focused on two-screen experiences. His participation in the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico coverage won CNN a Peabody Award.

Kuhn also created and launched the social media strategies for the National Basketball Association (which today has over 500 million followers on digital platforms across the world) and CBS News.

Kuhn’s innovative work inside Hollywood and Silicon Valley has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Fast Company, and TechCrunch, and regularly appears on Bloomberg TV. He has been named to Forbes “30 under 30,” Variety’s “Hollywood’s New Leaders” and Vanity Fair’s “Next Establishment” which featured “rising talent in tech, media, policy, and business.”

He is regularly invited to keynote conferences and events around the world including the Abu Dhabi Media Summit, CES, DLD, Banff World Media Festival, Digital Hollywood, Business Insider’s Social Analytics, DETAIL’s Tech x Tastemakers, Variety’s Venture Capital Summit, and South By South West.

A graduate of Hamilton College, Kuhn also studied at the London School of Economics. He serves as a founding board member for NPR Generation Listen and on the Council for Earthjustice, the premier non-profit environmental law firm.
