Eliot Shepard

Eliot Shepard is a technologist and entrepreneur who has led product development at online media startups for the last decade. He is currently Head of Technology at Curbed Network, where he and his team build and manage a suite of Ruby applications in support of the company’s 30+ blogs on dining, nightlife, shopping and real estate.

Previously, he has been CTO of New York analyst firm 451 Research, a programming lead at Sony Online Entertainment, and an early employee of an groundbreaking MIT-founded startup which brought 3D virtual reality gaming to the institutional fitness industry.

For several years Shepard ran an influential photo blog at Slower.net, and was called “best snapshot photographer you’ve never heard of” by Artforum. Shepard studied Applied Mathematics at Bates College in Maine. He lives in New York with his wife and daughter.
