Elias Shams

Elias has been a serial entrepreneur in telecom and social media space for past 15 years. He holds a M.S. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the George Washington University and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. Shams has lived and worked in many countries and cities including London England, Tehran Iran, Bonn Germany, Paris France, Alicante Spain, Delhi India, and Washington, DC where he currently works and resides. Two of the greatest Washington, DC based companies he worked for and very proud of are Yurie Systems which was sold to Lucent in 1998 for $1.23 B and telezoo.com that he founded in 1999. Elias now runs the Washington, DC based social media portal, awesomize.me – your first stop before any connection online. The site, launched in Nov 2010, is the new social media portal to help both the users and the corporate to manage their brand and reputation leveraging the power of community.
