Mr. Effi Atad is one of the leading figures in the field of media infrastructure, with extensive experience in DVB, satellite communications, cable communications, LMDS and MMDS. Mr. Atad has been an entrepreneur since 1983, founding and managing leading, successful technology companies. He established, managed, sold and successfully integrated New Media Communications (NMC) into Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ: HLIT). Upon the acquisition, Mr. Atad was appointed VP Data and Satellites at Harmonic, as well as CEO of Harmonic Data Systems. Among the other companies that Mr. Atad founded are IPPlanet, a successful Internet backbone provider enabling over DVB to ISPs and enterprises across the Middle-East and Africa.
