Tony currently serves as the Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Southern California-Keck School of Medicine. Previously, Tony was Vice President/Chief Academic Officer for Spectrum Health and Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University and earlier in his career he was the Krause-Lieberman Chair in laparoscopic colorectal surgery at The Cleveland Clinic and medical director in the Office of Medical Operations in Cleveland, Ohio.
He is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and has served as President of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Midwest Surgical Association, and the International Society of Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. Tony has published over 150 articles, 18 chapters, and edited three textbooks.
