Prior to joining Move Networks, Douglas Parrish was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Walt Disney Internet Group, where he was responsible for overseeing the technology platform, infrastructure, applications, and new product engineering for all of The Walt Disney Company’s Internet and wireless properties, including Disney.com, ESPN.com, ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, and many others. He joined Polaroid Corporation in 1998, where he was Chief Information Officer for the company’s consumer imaging business and director of Polaroid’s worldwide information technology and eBusiness strategy. Parrish held the position of Vice President of Information Services and Chief Information Officer for three years at Nestle’s US-based bottled water business—The Perrier Group of America. He also progressed through several information technology positions from 1981 through 1994 with the Campbell Soup Company—most notably ten years as vice president and CIO of the Pepperidge Farm unit. He was named one of the computer industry’s outstanding technology executives by Computerworld magazine in their published Premier 100 IT Leaders in 2004. Parrish studied computer science and materials engineering at the University of Utah and is co-author of the “Application Developers Handbook for the AS/400.”
