Douglas J. Korte is the Executiove Vice President, Marketing & Business Development at Group 47.

Mr. Korte has successfully led, grown and turned around medium to Fortune 10 businesses for 20 years. As EVP, Marketing and Business Development for GROUP 47, he is leveraging his skills and experience to strengthen management, focus strategy, employ best practices, secure funding, and build cash flows as they bring the company from early stages to market success.

Prior to Group 47, Mr. Korte served as Vice President & Global General Manager, Communications, Media & Entertainment with Hewlett-Packard, where, with dotted line reporting to the CEO, he led and motivated a 100+ member global team, turning around a $100M+ software, hardware and consulting services sales organization, stabilizing & then significantly growing the business, and coordinating multiple worldwide business unit delivery organizations to support client engagement, address strategic business & financial imperatives, and deliver added value. Mr. Korte was also repeatedly a “Best Practices” featured speaker & coach for HP's flagship sales leadership development program - ‘License to Practice’, and led the company in bringing a Predictive Analytics / Social Media SaaS offering from the R&D lab to market.

Previously with IBM, Mr. Korte, provided sales & business development leadership as the Industry Leader for IBM’s $900M+ Media Networks & Entertainment business in the Americas. He also had worldwide delivery responsibility, and management of domestic and international software and hardware product development teams, for the creation, advancement, campaign development, deployment & support of the IBM ‘Enterprise MetaData Management’ (EMM) metadata solution, ‘MXFserver’ cross-platform collaboration and project-sharing system, and Digital Cinema solutions offerings. Mr. Korte was a leader for IBM cloud offerings, as well as the M&E industry leader in the introduction and implementation of LTFS LTO storage.

With over two decades of business and technology experience, Mr. Korte is recognized as a business growth leader and subject matter expert, with a deep understanding of the key business challenges facing high-tech firms as they move to optimize their organizations, operations and business models in fast paced environments. Senior executives routinely consult him as they transform & grow their organizations, and drive for operational excellence.

Mr. Korte has been a Guest Lecturer at the UCLA business and management extension program on Predictive Analytics, Social Media, & Business Intelligence and a speaker and panelist at numerous industry events including; NAB, SMPTE, IBC, Information on Demand Conference, DTV Symposium, and the Creative Storage Conference. He is an active member and associated with key industry organizations which include, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, USC Institute of Communication Technology Management, and the Society of Television Engineers.

Mr. Korte majored in Biology/Chemistry at the University of Illinois where he performed Graduate level research in Molecular Genetics.

He received a BSBA with honors from the University of Phoenix.
