Doug is the founder of Bend Law Group, PC, a law firm focused on advising small businesses and launching startups. He is passionate about providing exceptional legal service to entrepreneurs so they can focus on successfully running their businesses.
Doug is also the General Counsel for Modify Industries, Inc. and tIFc LLC and a Legal Mentor for The Hub Ventures Program, a startup accelerator for entrepreneurs building a better world, and for the Young Entrepreneur Council, a non-profit dedicated to helping young entrepreneurs start successful businesses and a Business Advisor for Pacific Community Ventures, which provides capital and other direct support to small businesses to create jobs in low income communities.
In addition, Doug is a member of The Corporations Law Committee and the Business Law Section of The State Bar of California.
Doug has been featured in numerous publications, including The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Fox Business, MSN, Inc., VentureBeat, AllBusiness, Business Insider, Aol and American Express Open Forum.
Prior to opening Bend Law Group, PC, Doug was a corporate attorney for a law firm in New York City. He also served as a Judicial Clerk for the Nebraska Supreme Court and the Superior Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Before law school, Doug was a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Representative David Price, where he managed a portfolio of issues including tax and small business.
Raised in Omaha, Doug is a graduate of Drake University where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History. After completing his undergraduate studies, Doug went on to receive his master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He later received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
