Desiree Gruber is Modelinia’s Chief Executive Officer and Founder. Transforming her lifelong interests in fashion, culture, art, and entertainment into a diverse business portfolio, Gruber has redefined what a new media company can be.
Gruber’s career first took shape at Rogers & Cowan, a national public relations agency, where she rose to Vice President of Entertainment and managed various publicity and marketing accounts within the entertainment, music, fashion, and beauty industries while spearheading the overall growth of the firm’s New York office.
Looking to create broad-based opportunities throughout all forms of media, Gruber established Full Picture in 1999, synergizing the traditionally separate fields of public relations, management, and production. Full Picture has since become a creative force and blossomed into a full-fledged multimedia company. Its many successes include the hit reality show Project Runway, MSN.com’s hip fashion and lifestyle series Style Studio, and the trendsetting HSN shopping show Curations.
Gruber has also been instrumental in building some of the world’s most prestigious brands and industry leaders, including Victoria’s Secret, Ian Schrager Hotels, Chanel, Starr Restaurants, and Miramax, and guiding the careers of high-profile personalities ranging from Heidi Klum to Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 2009, she launched Modelinia.
Ms. Gruber has received a Peabody Award and four Emmy nominations for producing Project Runway, as well as over twenty media industry awards. She has been awarded an official Mayor’s Proclamation by the City of New York for her professional and civic accomplishments.
She serves on the Chairman’s Council of the New-York Historical Society and on the Board of Directors of God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that delivers nutritious, freshly prepared meals to people living with HIV/AIDS or other serious illnesses. She is also a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization and Women in Communication.
