Derrydean is the CEO and co-founded DreamOval with three of his school mates in April 2007 after completing Ashesi University in December 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer science and is directly responsible for charting and seeing to the implementation of DreamOval’s corporate strategy. In an article published for Guardian of UK, He was described as not the poster child you would expect to see for Africa but a part of Africa’s emerging class of young entrepreneurs who are presenting a serious challenge to Western ideas of African economic development.
Derrydean holds vast experience in the mobile and internet software services industry. He has been cited in diverse articles and presentation on mobile technology, internet and entrepreneurship in Africa. He has also spoken at the highest level at various conferences relating to mobile technology and entrepreneurship in general.
Derrydean has a passion for social and economic change in Africa and a knack for identifying and working with the right people. He also possesses an unflinching tenacity and drive in leading his team to deliver cutting edge mobile and internet solutions to meet the needs of businesses and the socially excluded. An ex Microsoft employee on his visit to Ghana and upon meeting Derry wrote on his blog that Derrydean is one of the highest initiative young people he has met in a long time.
