Founder of MoVoxx, a leading mobile advertising company that reached over 40 million unique users. MoVoxx was acquired by Adenyo (May ’10), an international mobile marketing software company. Adenyo was subsequently acquired by Motricity (NAS:MOTR) for $100M in cash (Apr ’11).
Prior to MoVoxx, Derek founded Infreeda which disrupted the $8 billion caller-paid directory assistance (411) market by offering a free, ad-supported voice alternative. Infreeda was acquired by AT&T (NYSE:T), who subsequently launched the service 1-800-YELLOWPAGES.
Derek earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley attending as a Bill Gates Millennium Scholar. Derek holds several patents-pending in systems related to mobile advertising.
