Derek Handley is a New Zealand entrepreneur and angel investor with a long track-record in the mobile space, having co-founded mobile advertising companies The Hyperfactory, Snakk Media and Agent-M. The Hyperfactory was started in 2001 and sold to Des Moines, Iowa-based Meredith Corporation in 2010.
Handley is co-founder and Chairman of Snakk Media, a leading mobile advertising network based in Australia; Chairman and a lead investor in Booktrack and a Director of kids 3D social-gaming world BigLittleBang.
In 2009 Handley was named the Ernst & Young ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ in New Zealand. Handley was named one of the 40 Most Influential People in New Zealand Telecommunications in 2005 and 2006 and awarded the 2006 Price Waterhouse Young Achievement of the Year. In 2007 he was nominated as the New Zealand ‘National Business Review’ Top 60 Innovators of 2007.
