Debra Bernardi

Ms. Bernardi is responsible for the Human Resources and Education departments at IDC and also has dotted-line management for the International HR function. She is an active part of the IDC’s senior management team. Her mission is to take care of IDC’s most valuable resource the “People”.

She has led her dedicated HR and Education teams to hire and train each new employees, while maintaining the same retention rate. In addition, she has significantly enhanced IDC’s benefit portfolio and created innovative HR solutions like the Global Fellowship program, Mentoring program and the Perks@Work program. She was instrumental both in creating IDC’s Orientation and assimilation program, the reward and recognition programs, the New and Advanced Analyst training programs, and in developing a one of a kind People & Education site on the company’s intranet, InsideIDC.

In 1998, Ms. Bernardi was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources and Education. Ms. Bernardi has been actively involved in helping IDC expand to over 600 U.S. employees. Prior to her position as VP of HR, Ms. Bernardi also managed IDC’s administration departments which included Telecom, Library, and General Services.

Ms. Bernardi joined IDG in 1989 and was responsible for creating the first collaborative training program for all IDG business units. Shortly after, she began work in the Human Resources Service Division (HRSD), providing HR generalist services to a variety of smaller IDG business units. One of the business units Ms. Bernardi supported was IDC, and in September 1991, Ms. Bernardi was hired as an HR Manager at IDC. At that time, IDC employed a mere 85 people. IDC now boasts a U.S. workforce of 600+ employees.

Before joining IDC, Ms. Bernardi worked in recruiting and training at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as York Hospital in Maine. Ms. Bernardi earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s degree from Lesley College. She is also a graduate of the American Society of Training and Development’s Train the Trainer program. She is certified in Myers Briggs Type Indicator as well as a graduate of the Center of Creative Leaderships 360 feedback tools.
