Dawn Lepore serves as the chief executive officer and chairman of the board for drugstore.com, inc., a leading online retailer of health, beauty, vision, and pharmacy solutions. Widely recognized as a results-oriented leader, Lepore has implemented a number of key initiatives, building customers and improving financial results. She joined drugstore.com in 2004.
Lepore formerly served as vice chairman of technology, operations, administration, strategy and active trader for The Charles Schwab Corporation where she played a key role in building Schwab’s highly successful e-commerce business. She was also a member of Schwab’s Executive Committee and a trustee of SchwabFunds. In her twenty-one years with Schwab, Lepore held a wide variety of roles and responsibilities, including serving as chief information officer and senior vice president of information technology.
Lepore serves on the board of eBay, The New York Times Company, and previously served on the board of Wal-Mart from August 2001 to September 2004.
She has been honored at the 2003 National Organization for Women’s Aiming High Conference, as one of Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in American Business in 2002, 2001, 2000 and 1999, as InformationWeek’s Chiefs of the Year for 2000, and named one of the Ten Hottest CIOs in 1999 by Future Banker magazine.
Lepore holds a B.A. degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.
