David has an extensive background in technology, general management, business development, and major product development cycles. He spent his formative career years at the Microsoft Corporation, as a Software Design Engineer on Word and Excel, and as a Program Manager on OS/2, Windows NT and Exchange Server. On the Exchange team, David led the design of Exchange’s first email client, shipping in Windows 95 as the “Inbox” program on over 200 million desktops.
He completed an MBA at the University of Washington, under sponsorship by Microsoft, and transitioned into product and business development roles, focusing primarily on integrating the Microsoft BackOffice suite of server products into the public networks of the telecos, worldwide. After the Internet burst into prominence in the mid-90’s, David developed new business models and distribution channels for MSN’s Sidewalk.com, an online local city guide for major metropolitan areas around the world.
In 2006, David created and ran the Digital Media Division at PorchLight Entertainment, serving as Senior VP and General Manager. He architected and directed overseas product development while overseeing content acquisition for two new online media businesses for kids, KidVideos.com, a “YouTube for Kids,” and KidMango.com, a free to watch, ad supported site, delivering long form professional programming.
David lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children and enjoys playing tennis, skiing, opera, music composition, and film scoring. He holds a B.S. degree in Information & Computer Science from the Universityof California, Irvine, and an MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business.
