David Siminoff is Founder, Chairman, and Chief Creative Officer of Shmoop, an educational website. Check out its fine efforts in literature, history, and tons of other stuff.

Prior to Shmoop, he was a Partner at Venrock from 2007-2009.

Prior to Venrock, he served as board member, Chairman, President and CEO of Spark Networks, 2003-2007, a provider of on-line personal services and the parent company to JDate.

David spent nearly a decade in investment research analysis and portfolio management at Capital Research, making early investments in Yahoo!, AOL, Amazon, and eBay. He later funded and co-founded 4INFO, a mobile search service, along with having made many angel investments. Thanks, Mark.

Formerly, he founded and later sold EastNet, a syndicate barter company, enabling television stations in Eastern Europe to trade American TV programs for advertising time from major brands.

David currently serves on a bunch of boards including Coupons.com where he runs the audit committee.
