David Rodriguez is a Venture Associate at Greycroft and Senior Vice President at Livefyre, a Greycroft portfolio company, where he leads operations, finance, and strategy.
Rodriguez was formerly an Associate at Greycroft where he focused on evaluating investment opportunities, sourcing new deals, and working with portfolio companies in the internet and digital media sectors.
Prior to Greycoft, Rodriguez was a Senior Associate at Marakon, a boutique management consulting firm. At Marakon, Rodriguez advised companies in the technology, digital media, retail, and aerospace industries on a broad set of strategic challenges, including organic and acquisitive growth strategy, portfolio management, and new product/offer development. Rodriguez began his career as an engineer at IBM and Medtronic where he designed hardware for ASICs and pacemakers, respectively.
Rodriguez is also interested in economic development, and has lived in both Nicaragua and Mozambique for brief periods working on development related projects for several nonprofits, including TechnoServe. In addition, Rodriguez founded an e-commerce company that promotes and sells artwork sourced from developing countries providing emerging artists access to global markets.
Rodriguez graduated magna cum laude and with distinction from Duke University with a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. He currently lives in San Francisco, but still considers New York home.
