In April 2011, David New joined Powervation as the Director of Product Marketing. Prior to joining Powervation, David held the position of Product Marketing Manager for Computing & Peripherals at Power Integrations Inc. (NASDAQ: POWI) and worked with a variety of power converter topologies (boost, fly-back, two-switch forward, and LLC) used

for PFC, main power, and standby power. At Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM), he was the Business Manager for Notebook DC/DC Power. And while at International Rectifier Corporation Inc. (NYSE: IRF)

David held various technical and business management positions. His technical work at IR included the research and design of high frequency, two-stage multi-phase synchronous buck converters for point-of-load power delivery in computing applications, and gallium nitride (GaN) research focused on the development of a manufacturable gate process for the production of AlGaN/GaN MIS HFETs. In 2004, he earned his S.M.E.E. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while studying power electronics, and researching advanced energy storage devices (double layer capacitors) at MIT’s Laboratory for Electromagnetic and Electronic Systems.

Prior to his graduate work, David attended the University of Arkansas, and in 2002 he earned his B.S. Physics and B.S.E.E. (Summa Cum Laude) degrees. His undergraduate work included research in the fields of silicon carbide (SiC) and high-power, high-temperature packaging.
