Dr. David McGee spent 20 years at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), one of 9 U.S. Department of Energy multi-program laboratories. Before leaving PNNL to found Natural Interaction Systems—now Adapx—with Phil Cohen, David was the chief scientist and technical lead of the rich interaction environments research area, which specialized in designing and developing advanced interactive systems.
David received his BS in computer engineering from Washington State University.
Working with Philip Cohen, he later received his Ph.D. in computer science at the Oregon Health and Science University. Their research on multimodal digital paper was awarded a patent and is the foundation of the company’s first set of products.
