David Hickson

Co-founder of Tribesports (http://Tribesports.com)

New media lawyer turned entrepreneur, David arrived at lastminute.com in 2000 as its legal counsel, within four years he had become its Legal & Commercial Director and had began to broaden his experience away from just being ‘the lawyer’. David played a pivotal role in lastminute.com’s $1bn exit to Travelocity Europe.

In late 2006 Brent Hoberman (co-founder lastminute.com) asked David to assist him in his new venture, and David joined mydeco.com as one of its founding shareholders and its Head of Corporate Development. Navigating mydeco through funding rounds totaling £12.5m, David also took responsibility for some of mydeco’s commercial, strategic and new revenue units. It was this experience that helped David gain the crucial insights and know-how that enabled him to finally cross the Rubicon from lawyer to business side.

In early 2010, he was asked by Stephen Reid (CEO of Tribesports), to join forces as co-founders of Tribesports.
