David Cherner is a seasoned general management, entrepreneurial executive, and management consultant with over twenty years of experience successfully positioning businesses for growth and profitability in the health care, Internet, software, education and not-for-profit sectors.
David has founded and led three companies, and led a number of highly visible entrepreneurial initiatives and teams within larger emerging growth, mission-driven and public organizations. He has also served in leadership and general management roles with several venture-backed health care, information and technology-based services companies, including Vicinity Corporation (VP-GM, Consumer and Syndication business unit, IPO in 2000, acquired by Microsoft in 2002), and Access Health (IPO, acquired by McKesson). Most recently, David founded and led HWS, a leading strategic advisory and research firm that served many of the nation’s most prestigious hospitals and health systems, foundations, educational institutions and government entities.
David holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley, an MPH from the School of Public Health at U.C. Berkeley and a BA in economics from Emory University.
