David is a seasoned venture capitalist who translates this experience into added value for SAIL’s portfolio companies. His long history of experience in financial services, specifically leading and managing private equity and venture capital companies, makes him an important part of the SAIL team. He is currently a Director at one of SAIL’s portfolio companies, CNS Response, a medically focused cleantech company which helps more accurately diagnose psychiatric patients.
Prior to joining SAIL, he held leadership positions with several prominent organizations, including GFG Global Financial Group as Managing Director of this $500 Million fund of funds, Interven Partners as General Partner of this $51 Million venture capital partnership based on the West Coast, and First Interstate Capital as President & CEO of this private equity subsidiary of First Interstate Bancorp with approximately $200 Million under management. Throughout his career he has also had extensive cleantech experience. These include working with energy efficient architectural subsystems used in solar energy arrays, water treatment and transmission equipment and production of totally “natural†beef without hormones or antibiotics, to name a few.
Dave has participated in multiple facets of the National Association of Small Business Investment companies, including the Board of Governors for 10 years, the Executive Committee and as Chairman in 1987. He received an AB from Dartmouth College, an MBA & JD from the University of Southern California, where he was Managing Editor of the Southern California Law Review.
